Hey guys,
I’m wondering if y’all have experienced this too; ever since the 1.8 update, when I’m flying some of my old builds, occasionally the plane will suddenly jerk to the side, as if there were some powerful cross-ways impact to the tail section. Sometimes not too strong, sometimes strong enough to send the thing into an irretrievable tailspin. Does anyone know what’s going on here?
Also since the update, with some of my old builds, they’ll just randomly explode mid-flight, or sometimes right when I throttle up the engines. Seems like it has to do with [aircraft collisions], but why would there suddenly be interference when there wasn’t before?
If anyone else has encountered these problems and know what’s going on (and maybe has a solution), I’d love to hear about it.
Thanks!
Also, it seems to be more powerful when flying a plane that has been scaled down in size and mass @ThePrototype
Ah, yes. Me too. iOS, high phys and 1.8. That is helpful thanks. @ThePrototype
I've had this happen twice now, I use high physics on IOS, latest update.
Ahh, ok. Something to think about, thanks @randomusername
Alright thanks @jamesPLANESii
Are you running Android or pc? @randomusername
I have the first issue
Yeah disabling collisions should solve the problems. @Hyattorama
Hmmm, bummer. Do you think that could include hinge rotators on custom control surfaces? And if so, perhaps if I replace them, check clearances carefully, and/or disable aircraft collisions on relevant parts...? I guess I could just go try it lol. Thanks for your help! @jamesPLANESii
It may be that you have a thing on a rotator that has something on it that’s clipping something. It makes this weird torque effect. Andrew said it’s a new thing with Unity, so I think it’s an unfixable bug.
Hmm, ok. This is the one I was just playing with. Just get up in the air, roll and pitch and yaw a bunch until you see it. I’ll look at some of my other old stuff to see if there’s a better example... @randomusername
It happen on my build celebrating my coming of silver (but I changed the engine and the it worked)
Ive had that happen on one of my biplanes!
