Advice from those who have flight yokes...

6,005 Lahoski107  5.5 years ago

I am thinking about getting a Saitek Pro flight yoke for my birthday...

But I am a bit skeptical about getting it, because:
1. How accurate is it? Is it actually supported by SimplePlanes?
2. What kind of outlet/adapter (USB, HDMI, AUX port?)
3. How much room is needed for it?
4.Does the throttle system work how it should?

Thanks for your help!

Yes, You can set it that way in the settings of your simulator (altough you can only have one throttle in Simple planes)@Lahoski107

@BoeyingOfficial does each knob control each individual engine?

And one more thing: you can change the Knobs on the throttle quadrant, so if you want to use all 3 of them for engines, then you might want to think about getting extra knobs from the logitech website. The black ones are much more comfortable for your hands. @Lahoski107

You can choose to have a individual engine for each throttle, but I tend to use the other two for flaps and spoilers. And the yoke can’t rotate 90*, but the sim compensates that, so that of you turn it to it’s max, it will also turn to it’s max in the sim. @Lahoski107

@BoeyingOfficial Thanks! I just have one question. Does the throttle power work as it should be? (Like does it throttle each individual engine?)
And a second question. Does turning the yoke a hint turn the plane a hint? And does turning the yoke all the way turn the plane all the way like it should?
    .
And isn’t it supposed to be that big?

    Thank you.

    My experience:
The Saitek yoke works perfect with simpleplanes, and with flight sims in general. It’s easy to setup and feels good. You connect the yoke to your pc by USB. The throttles are smooth and and a must have. The only con with saitek in general is the quality. Here is an example: You connect the throttle quad via a small cable, which has about 6 little pins in it. The problem is that the pins are very fragile. Once every now and then one of them bends, and because of that you can’t plug it in. The solution I found was that you have to mend it with a paperclip. And in my opinion, you shouldn’t have to use a paperclip to mens your €130,- product. Other then that the yoke is perfect. I don’t have any experience with the pedals, as you don’t really need them in the beginning, altough I will ask the CB pedals for my birtday this month.
this rather odd image shows how big it is compared to a small cat.

Overall I think it’s a great product and I would give it an 8/10
