The island is small, but it’s not like we need to fit an entire city. Essen thought that it would be best to find a place to set up a base of some sort. We had made contact with multiple advanced island nations here in the Pacific Ocean, they tell us that we’re in the year 2019. If they are telling us the truth, then that means we are nearly 1000 years in the past. The records suggest that these islands and the nations on them never existed so we believe that we performed the trans-dimensional jump on accident. That sad excuse of a doctor got us stuck in this mess and Essen thinks that he may have a solution to get us out, I think otherwise. Everyone here in engineering knows that we can’t repair the reactor and the jump drive can’t be repaired without solarium crystals, which are not found on Earth in our dimension, so I doubt that we will find any here. Thankfully those were the only things damaged, if we manage to get a new reactor, we may just be able to fly again. That however would require a dry dock of epic proportions and we don’t have those resources available to us, Essen once again trying to show others that he doesn’t need help. We may have plenty of supplies to sustain the crew for the next year or so, but those supplies will not last forever. Not like I have much of a say in these decisions, I’m just the chief engineer.
