Looks like Red Bull won't renew their air races after the 2019 season due to lack of interest in the event. Glad I was able to attend at least one Red Bull Air Race during the 2015 season in Las Vegas, and while I think the Reno Air Races are better (went to that in 2016), its sad to see the Red Bull Air Races go as it was an awesome event. and it's one of the few remaining major air races remaining (other than Reno, Formula 1, and cross-country racing).
That sounds cool @JohnnyBoythePilot

During that Las Vegas race I went to, they also had Chuck Aaron perform some sweet aerobatics in his Bo-105; which was also his last performance before retiring, so it was definitely a pretty special event.

Awesome! I went during the 2015 season at Las Vegas. It's definitely an awesome event to attend; watching the planes zip around the tight course.
It was at IMS, which was pretty cool.
NOOOOO! I'm glad I went to one about a year back
RIP
NOOOOOO!!!!
@Remote
Formula 1 class also has restrictions on weight and wing area, but as far as that pilots typically race their own custom-built air racers.
@Remote
There's a class at the Reno Air Races called "Formula 1" and consists of tiny single-seat airplanes powered by a 100hp Continental O-200 going around a tight race course. Recently they've expanded to become their own championship and now race at different locations around the world and not just the Reno Air Races. It's called "Air Race 1".
Wait. Is Formula 1 also an air race or is it just a car race?
