An Oily Mission
"Tonight, at 8 pm, I received a message about a mysterious fire in a faraway oil-rig near the Arabian Sea. I was doing some important paperwork in the ONGC office in Panvel, when I received this message. I then was sent to the rescue mission, donning an orange colored pilot uniform, and then got in a large, double rotored, orange helicopter. I then set off west towards the oil rig. I could see the moon shining bright. After 2 hours of continuous flight over the Arabian sea, I noticed it. At a distance of 2 km, the oil rig was breaking down and burning fiercely like the very bowels of Hell. I was feeling scared to fly the helicopter into the site, but as it was important to find and rescue any worker there, I flew towards the site. I then saw that some 10-15 workers were signalling me for help, The oil rig breaking and burning before them. Then, like a superhero, threw down the rope from the helicopter, to the platform where the distressed workers were standing. Immediately, one by one, the workers caught hold of the ropes, and I pulled them up one by one. Soon, all workers were on the helicopter. Then as I was turning to the coast, I found out that one of the workers was having a 3rd degree burns. It was 10:30 pm and the clouds were closing in.
It was a double trouble for me. So, I flew the helicopter quickly and carefully, tilting even more than required, and with more thrust. When I reached the coast on 11:42 pm, I checked the fuel level. I was shocked to find that the fuel level was too low for me to land on the helipad that was located in an airstrip that was located 2 km away. So,I had to find some other place to land. Finally, I landed at a nearby highway. This landing coincided with the last drop of fuel being spent. The landing time was 12 o'clock. An ambulance was then called up to the site, for the injured worker, and the authorities of my office were informed about the incident. It was 12:15 am then. Soon, a crane was called in to bring the helicopter to the heliport for refueling. It was indeed an oily mission. Very. (And I as feeling proud for it.)"
