"After the Battle for NovrdLisch the Saltwater Air Force has managed to locate a Brotherhood of Chaos anchorage north of Wright. Reconnaissance by RSD.1 Nemesis drones shows two cruisers, six destroyers and a small flotilla of armed launches in the harbour, which is located on a volcanic island with a fortification at its peak. An operation to eliminate the island has been quickly put into place."
Saltwater Navy forces:
Two République-class aircraft carriers (SWS Repulse and SWS Swiftsure).
One Devestator-class destroyer (SWS Kingdom).
Two New Albany-class frigates (SWS Echo and SWS Kestrel).
One Albacore-class submarine (SWS Phantom).
One damaged Vengeance-class aircraft cruiser (SWS Buccaneer).
Four Bridge-class landing ships (SWS Privateer, SWS Astute, SWS Tireless and SWS Thunderbolt).
Six Archer-class fast minesweepers.
Eight Scorpion-class torpedo boats.
At dawn the first wave of ten Osprey II strike fighters went in to eliminate the air defences, attacking SAM sites around the island. Then ten Dark Arrows and twelve Osprey IIs struck the harbour to knock out the warships at anchor there. Both cruisers and most of the destroyers were destroyed by Dark Arrows, whilst Osprey IIs attacked port defences. Two Osprey IIs and a Dark Arrow were lost in these strikes. In the third and final wave the SWS Kingdom, SWS Buccaneer, SWS Phantom and the New Albany-class frigates launched a swarm of cruise missiles that struck bunkers and heavy guns around the isle.
.
By now it was time for the ground forces to go in. Three Bridge-class landing ships hit the beaches at the foot of the mountain, escorted by a pair of minesweepers and two torpedo boats, with air cover from four Osprey IIs, eight RSD.1 Nemesis attack drones and nine Terminator-E attack helicopters. The vessels each unloaded 15 Arctic Armour main battle tanks and 20 Earthquake ALS light tanks alongside 450 combat troops.
.
Meanwhile another Bridge-class ship, the SWS Tireless, headed for the port, escorted by the SWS Buccaneer, the SWS Echo, a minesweeper and six torpedo boats. As they neared the harbour nine Brotherhood motor launches attacked. The torpedo boats and SWS Echo fought back, destroying the lightly armed launches within a matter of minutes. Then, with her gunners providing covering fire, the SWS Tireless unloaded 25 Earthquake ALS light tanks and 10 Arctic Armour main battle tanks straight onto the quay, joined by 450 soldiers. Air support was provided by four Osprey IIs, eight RSD.1 Nemesis drones and four Terminator-E attack helicopters. The tanks spread out across the port, which was found to be an independent city-state occupied by the Brotherhood of Chaos.
.
As the Marine Corps advanced a group of Earthquake ALS tanks were fired upon by a unit of terrorists with RPGs. Unable to locate the terrorists on the rooftops of the houses in the area they called in air support, in the form of a Terminator-E helicopter. The Terminator-E quickly neutralised the threat, but was hit by heavy machine gun fire and was forced to return to its carrier. Meanwhile a pair of Arctic Armour tanks engaged four Challenger 1 tanks in a gun dual, destroying three of them. The fourth was later destroyed by an RSD.1 Nemesis drone in the closing stages of the battle.
The Marine Corps secured control of the port within three hours of landing on the quay.
.
The soldiers on the beaches met greater resistance, including a unit of 15 Challenger 1 tanks, and it took three hours for them to begin ascending the mountain under heavy machine gun fire. Through a combination of air strikes and tank support the troops reached the walls of the fortress. By then it had been decided that paratroops would land inside the walls to avoid the casualties involved in breaching the fortress.
.
At 13:40 four Drifter-C transports flying out from NovrdLisch dropped 180 paratroops into the enemy position, and after securing and opening the gates to the regular units from the beaches fought for a further hour before taking control of the fortress. Throughout the rest of the day units from the Saltwater Marine Corps were dropped by UH-60 Black Hawks to eliminate surviving pockets of enemy soldiers, assisted by a pair of Terminator-E attack helicopters. Overall just 134 prisoners were taken back to NovrdLisch, the rest having committed "Rapture".
.
Within a week control of the island was handed back to the city-state, the Republic of the Wright Far North. The SWS Kestrel and a minesweeper remained on station to ensure that the island wasn't re-taken by the Brotherhood of Chaos.
.
The rest of the fleet returned to NovrdLisch, where many soldiers, sailors and pilots were decorated for their actions. However, as the fleet neared the safety of port, an undetected limpet mine on the hull of the SWS Buccaneer detonated, ripping through the hull and causing the SAMs to explode in their tubes. The ship broke in two and sank within minutes, taking 226 members of her crew of 310 with her. It is believed the mine was placed during the skirmish with the Brotherhood motor launches. Another Vengeance-class ship is being built as a replacement. It will have better protected VLS tubes to guard against another incident like this. The dead were buried in the Oceanic Cemetery overlooking the wreck site.

@TheFantasticTyphoon oh yeah... Forgot it was here hehe.
@Jim1the1Squid
I know you've donated the SWS Cavalier, but remember that it's currently serving as the flagship of Task Force 1.1 in Warburg.
Maybe not right away, still need to catch up on latest news.
Don't forget to add my donated ships, notably the SWS Cavalier/Ex-USS Fortitude (BBHN-6)
@Jim1the1Squid
Should I send the SWS Chieftain to Warburg now? The war seems to have cooled.
@MTakach
By the way you might want to change the link for my country on the Conegsreich Republic allies list to this one.
@CaptainEssen
I'm sure you will.
@TheFantasticTyphoon
I'll take care of it.
@CaptainEssen
Be careful with these prisoners. Despite their massively outdated equipment they fought fanatically and often commit suicide when captured.
@TheFantasticTyphoon
I'll make the proper accommodations.
@CaptainEssen
Ok, we'll fly ten to the Deutschland on board a Drifter-C transport aircraft.
@CaptainEssen he has Returned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@TheFantasticTyphoon
I can take them.
as in no
@TheFantasticTyphoon nein
@MTakach
Do you want some prisoners for interrogation?
@MTakach Ok, that's good news. We will deliver them shortly as we already have spares built.
@TheFantasticTyphoon 10 pls
@MTakach
Ok. Would you like some of these to bolster your forces?
@TheFantasticTyphoon yeah
@MTakach
This one.
@TheFantasticTyphoon i think..."think"
@MTakach
Oh few...
For a moment I thought you were angry with me for doing it. There is one before this, have you seen it?
