At midnight last night the SWS Echo was scouting in front of the main battle group, tasked to protect the southern tip of the Conegsreich Republic, when a Chaos torpedo boat was spotted off the starboard bow heading for the Republic, where the Deutschland was undergoing repairs. Closing at speed, the SWS Echo fired on the torpedo boat, striking its wheelhouse and engine compartment. A board party was taken across and, after a short gun fight, seized various documents and equipment. Examination of these papers gave away some coordinates, to which the SWS Echo's RSD.1 Nemesis drone was immediately sent.
.
Reconnaissance of the island at those coordinates spotted several men in the uniform of the Brotherhood of Chaos high-command. Seizing on this intelligence the carrier battle group headed straight for the island. More RSD.1 drones took up positions around the island, then six Osprey II strike fighters flew in to knock out the air defences. A second wave of eleven Osprey IIs then went in and dropped laser guided bombs onto the mountainous island. Finally a wave of cruise missiles was fired from the ships of the carrier battle group.
.
The island was covered in forest, and the only permanent structure seemed to be a brick hut at the mountain's peak. Nonetheless trenches and emplacements ringed the island. There were no beaches, and only a small landing stage for submarines and small destroyers, meaning that the Saltwater Marine Corps would have to grapple up the cliffs from the helicopter decks of the landing ships.
.
Under covering fire from the New Albany-class frigate SWS Kestrel the marines, all 1800 of them, reached the cliff top. Then RPG and machine gun fire began raining down on them, preventing them from advancing and causing heavy casualties. Air strikes from Terminator-E attack helicopters and Osprey II strike fighters helped little to improve the situation of the troops, and a withdrawal was put into action. A blockade by the torpedo boats and minesweepers was set up to prevent the Brotherhood of Chaos escaping.
.
In a last ditch attempt special forces armed with assult rifles, grenades and plastic explosive were flown in to the mountain peak in UH-60 Black Hawks, escorted by a pair of Terminator-E attack helicopters. Under fire, the soldiers attacked the building, breaching it and finding not a military command station, but a partly constructed ballistic missile silo. The men split into groups, with one group sabotaging the un-built missile and planting the plastic explosives and another set about eliminating the high-command.
.
After 45 minutes the fifty special forces men set the fuse on the explosive charges and sprinted back to their waiting helicopters and returned to the carriers. The battle group then departed the area as the underground complex was destroyed in a ball of flame from the explosive charges detonating. Dark Arrow heavy attack aircraft completed the destruction of the island with their semi-nuclear cannons.
.
Documents recovered in the raid show plans for an operation to eliminate the Conegsreich Republic and the Deutschland using biological weapons. These weapons are based on three small ballistic missile submarines and on the island that was raided. The island missile silo was a reserve system, with the submarines as the primary weapons. It is imperative that these submarines are hunted down before the attack, which appears to be scheduled to take place in four months time.
.
The Saltwater armed forces have launched 140 RSD.1 Nemesis scout drones to find them, as well as sending out seven minesweepers, a Tide-class supply ship and two torpedo boats to search, plus retasking our carrier battle group. We ask our allies to assist as well.

@CaptainEssen ok
@TheFantasticTyphoon
We have managed to outfit half the drones properly, the rest might have to be jury-rigged together. I'll inform you when we get something.
@CaptainEssen
Any progress?
@FreeRangedLemon
No. We are all friends here, all enemies are NPCs.
@TheFantasticTyphoon ok will set to work.
@Jim1the1Squid
That's great, but we need sonar or MAD to detect submerged nuclear submarines.
I have recently developed a new radar technology that detects up to a hundred thousand entities at once.
@CaptainEssen
Ok, we'll fly in 10 drones. Make sure you have a net strung across the flight deck so they can be recovered.
@TheFantasticTyphoon
Let's start with 10, just to see if our sensors will work with these. Chances are they will.
@CaptainEssen
Ok, how many do you want?
@TheFantasticTyphoon
That should work, we might be able to outfit them with some of our advanced sensors too.
@CaptainEssen
Clicky
@CaptainEssen
No, but they can be launched from an heli-pad sized area using a catapult and are recovered into a net, like the USS Missouri did with drones in the First Gulf War.
@TheFantasticTyphoon
Are they VTOL, because the Deutschland's flight deck has quite the hole in it.
@CaptainEssen
Do you want some RSD.1 Nemesis scout attack drones to fill in for the fighters until you can get them operational?
@TheFantasticTyphoon
Most of the Trident fighters we had on board the Deutschland were destroyed, the rest were damaged. However we may be able to cannibalize them and get a fighter wing operational.
