Keewatin Shield
Description
The Keewatin Shield is known for its lowlands, shallow shorelines, dense and sparse pine forest, trail paths, and numerous bush airports, largest of which is the Whiteshell airport, though do not be deceived by the title 'largest', it can fit twice in the Athabasca Airport. Be careful when sailing through passages, shallow beds can catch vessels and keep them stuck.
Locations
Bisset
- Seaport Spawn
Trail Spawn
Bisset is primarily a hotel lot for travellers chasing the ever so elusive Wawastew (Northern Lights), A trail network connects Bisset to Whiteshell Airport, the seaport is basic of utilities, more of a canoe park than a seaport, the largest plane it could ever berth is the GimliWorks GW-05 Churchill.Coney Island
Seaport Spawn
Coney Island is an uninhabited island, due to the lack of natural shelter and thinning forest, alongside Coney Island is the river where planes and ships alike spawn, it was once extremely shallow and will dry up on the low tides, but was deepened to allow of deep drafted ships to passKeewatin Airport
Hangar Spawn
Runway Spawn
Keewatin Airport is a modestly sized airport and is on the same island as Norway House Airport, The Manitou Trail connects the two airports together and Manitou is snuggled between the airports, the Hangar could barely fit an A300 but the runway is only used by regional craft with STOL capabilities, a Comet in theory could take off but land is another thing.Lake of The Woods Seaport
Seaport Spawn
Lake of the woods is a rather small lake by Canadian standards, the opening of the lake to the open water network is wide enough to sail two HMCS Haidas beam to beam, it is deep so ships can access it, although the seaport itself is basic and nonexistent in utilities, again, more of a canoe lot than a seaport.Manitou
Trail Spawn
Manitou is an extremely tiny town known for its thick surrounding forest, and tiny lakes where any activities is almost impossible to achieve, fishing or otherwise. Manitou Connects Keewatin Airport and Norway House Airport, and at one point became a tourist attraction because of the island's predicament. Though the hype died down.Norway House Airport
Runway Spawn
hangar Spawn
Norway House Airport is the smallest of the three airports present in the shield, with only purpose to serve recreational planes and bush planes such as the Otter, Beaver, and Dash-7s. For that reason, a connection to a much larger Keewatin Airport is required to allow an easier transfer from an Otter to a 737-200C.Wanipigow
Trail Spawn
Wanipigow is a remote settlement mainly as a fishing town, and berry foraging, despite being closer to both Norway House Airport and Keewatin Airport, its only access to the majority of Canada is through Whiteshell Airport, with the trail feeding to the Bisset Trail, because the rapids between Wanipigow and Manitou is too dangerous, the ground is sturdy due to the shield, but jagged and rough terrain prohibits any construction.Whiteshell Airport
hangar spawn
- Runway spawn
Whiteshell Airport is the largest airport between the three airports with two runways to service Bisset and Wanipigow to the rest of the shield and Canada, and also to the neighbouring airports, particularly the Keewatin airport. A similar situation back in the Coloniser's land, Westray and Papa Westray, and the 1.7mile flight, only this time, the flight would be so short, engines can't even spool up to max rpm. Even with the title 'largest' airport in the Keewatin Shield of the Greater Canadian Shield, any planes larger than any planes provided by Canadair, and Bombardier is discouraged to land and take off in the Keewatin Shield, unless its an emergency where then ATC employees then pray the Holy Rosary to the Pilots in both English, French, and Cree. Of course, a Boeing 747 can theoretically land in Whiteshell Airport, it'll safely crash in the surrounding forest.

Note
This is my second map mod and have to be unexpectedly uploaded much earlier, since later versions were corrupted, a huge blow to moral since the latest is an extensive array of islands, a bridge even. Any troubleshooting caused more problems, so I will settle the Keewatin Shield Map on this version, its aight but several times smaller than the latest version, by a factor of 12. And this map even with all the setbacks still offers more than Athabasca, for one, has paths, and secondly more airports, roleplaying is possible.

@UnlistedPlanes now now, I still have to consider...
@jelybaca Oh I cant wait!!!
@UnlistedPlanes before I consider, dm me on one of my decrepid aircraft publishes...
@jelybaca Hey, will you mind to collab with me? I have this grand plan of a map and hopefully come to fruition, but my computer is kind of garbage...
Very nice is it possible to add European regions like prague or paris for android ? Thank you :)
@BurkeEnterprise Yep, and half-baking it just like the Capital.
Your just slowly remaking all of Manitoba aren’t you?
I think its fair to say that C-130 or A400M can land on all the airport, especially the C-130 that can actually land at an 800m unpaved runway (wetted is also the thing to consider) and takeoff
wow. is this all done using code??? How did you scale everything and create the actual terrain?
Nice
Watch me be a savage and land the An225 in these small airstrips.
beautiful
Oh my God, and it's mobile friendly. Holy crud, this is the height of civilization!
@ThePilotDude as much as I want a more detailed terrain, that is the problem of corruption, every multi textured map I tested never leaves unity, something about tetrahe-something and lots of red fonts, even when its saved cleanly, simpleplanes couldnt load it, error occured it would say. Sorry.
