Basic info

This map was mostly an experiment of mine. I explored the use of particle effects, while trying to make a map that is accessible to all devices. This map is a medium sized-island, that has some interesting natural features, like waterfalls, mountains, and a lake; each of which are overshadowed by a massive sci-fi inspired anomaly.

Lore

Incident 01-D1 occurred on an unnamed island that hosted unique geology. The island was covered with large mountains, whose snowy summits fed immense waterfalls. This geology attracted many, including MSYN, a mining syndicate who had discovered various rare minerals in such mountains. Wielding immense lobbying power, the syndicate eventually gained rights to the mountains of the island, and therefore began mining the island. Obviously, MSYN faced severe backlash. While mostly political, there was a certain group that decided to take physical action. They used a stolen time-reverting prototype, which would revert the island to a time before MSYN. However, during the execution of their plan, the prototype malfunctioned. Most of what occurred after can only be ascertained by speculation, but the consensus among researchers was that most of the island was simply removed from existence. The present anomaly is assumed to be a side-effect from such a catastrophic break in reality.
