Remember the landing gear input has a capital L! 🤦♂️😂 whoops
I could have made it in about 2 minutes if I had remembered!
.
Also Andrew, watch what happens when I drag the wheel out at 1:20. It doesn’t move with my finger and just sits there when I bring it out. This is a bug that hasn’t been fixed that’s been in the game literally since 1.0 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yes, this bug has been in the game since the game was released 5.6 years ago and still hasn’t been fixed. It’s only on mobile BTW.
@jamesPLANESii I mean, thanks, I already knew the basics. But do you know how to make custom landing gear that actually looks nice, and not just a stick with a shock absorber and wheels? I get that this was made more than 2 years ago, but still.
Basically what you want to do with the gear on a Hornet is start off with a straight piece with a floppy hinge rotator in the middle. Then you want to rotate the floppy rotator with connected parts on in the transform parts tool, which can be found in the same place the attachment editor is found. This will make the whole bottom part rotate. Then what you want to do is bring out a shock and attach a hinge rotator at both ends, and then nudge it into the position you want to attach it. Then attach the shock bit to the landing gear.
OK hopefully that kinda makes sense lol
@StancyBoi There's an in-game one. Tap the rotate part button then at 5he top There's an icon that looks like a clamp. Click that and you can change the connections on a part.
Hey @jamesPLANESii , this tutorial was helpful, but I can't seem to find a tutorial for more complicated landing gear, like the F/A-18's rear landing gear, it has a somewhat vertical part, then it slants backwards, and then the wheel is there, and then theres the suspension springs in the angle, to get a better idea of what I'm talking about, just look up F18 landing gear or SimpleRockets 2 procedural landing gear. I'm trying to improve the wasp and make it look like its irl counterpart, and this is the only thing stumping me. You know what I can do? I don't want to use another person's gear as a subassembly.
@Zanedavid It does Helps! Thank you! Now It really Really Works! But before I know this I just Decreased the speed of the door And Slightly Increased the speed of the Gear.
Go in funky trees for your landing gear hinges and paste this in input:
clamp01(smooth(4*LandingGear-1.1,1.1))
@Planecrafter1622 adjusting the numbers adjusts the delay I’m not sure by how much but just tinker with it, there’s better ways to do this function but I prefer this method. Hope this helps!

@Sarp17
Here is one landing gear tutorial.
Not helpful at all. It's just a rotating stick with wheels.
how to make landig gear ddoors

Thank you guy this very useful
I was so close, but didn't know what the input was, thank you for the walkthrough
Oh wow so that's how! Thx for showing this!
@jamesPLANESii ah ok, thanks ill try my best. Ill probably upload it tomorrow if I get the chance. also sorry for the late response lol

@jamesPLANESii Is it a mod? because i have the mod that lets you connect things yeah, i just dont know how to connect stuff..
@StancyBoi Ahh yes, I can guide you with that. Just one thing, do you know how to use the connection editor?

@Zanedavid Buuut It's Not easy to Copy paste On Somsong That is a really old version.. Reeeeeeeeeaaaallllllyyy old

@Zanedavid Clicky! Anyways, I don't know If it exists in rotators but, Delay?
I know inputs and capitalization............................ But there is a problem I can't fix....
THANKS!
Thanks! This will be very helpful
I couldn't watch it on here I had to go to YouTube and watch it LandingGear
This really helped. Thanks Alot!
Will do! Thanks for the help @jamesPLANESii
Oh rip. Try increasing the mass of the rotator, shock, wheel (or wheels) and the parts they’re connected to. @RascallyGoose49
