What we used to have to do in the olden days before fuselage slicing was invented

My OV-10A project taught me pain, I really want to finish it but damn does it hurt to do manual paneling

New title: I hate panelling, and it doesn't even need to be done!

OH YES I LIKE THIS ALOT

@Superstink Nope, you could do that easy if you could adjust the completion of the front and rear separately

But there wouldnt be a giant hole on top for the cockpit windows though @AN2Felllla

You might be able to hire some modders to do it for you lmao @AndrewGarrison

@Kennneth Yeah, thank God he actually saw it though! It looks like he's still interested in giving us the tools we need to make the best airplanes we can.

Do you think…. Maybe…. You can add the part before the 29th of July 🥺? @AndrewGarrison

    @AN2Felllla

Bruh you gotta get faster with the rise and run lol

I always use two different colors for panels to make sure the seams are straight, see here:
    1
    2
This way you can see much quicker what needs to be done. Entire nose section took only two hours, about the same for the tail since it was a more complex shape.

@AndrewGarrison Yeah. Even just one slider in the middle for the amount of completion would be good too

@AN2Felllla @Thecatbaron @Kangy Thank you for the clarification. That would be a tough part to implement.

@AndrewGarrison A part like this, where it has adjustable completion of the circle at each end. It might be quite difficult to code, and tbh it doesn't really need adjustable corners other than circular, but if you could implement this it would be an absolute game changer :)

@AndrewGarrison He's basically just saying that we should be able to make a fuselage look like this, instead of using dozens of parts to make it, this way we can easily save parts and make much more functional builds, and the community would love it

I think he is trying to say that he wants to be able to have the hollow fuselage have pieces cut out of it, Kinda like a pizza slice if viewed from the cross section view. This would make structures like bomb bays, hollow cockpits, and concave shapes much easier as you would not have to panel the entire section in order to get an opening in that section of fuselage. @AndrewGarrison

@AN2Felllla I still don't follow. Is there a specific part of the video where I could get a better understanding?

@AndrewGarrison Sort of. I think the best solution is on each end, thee would be a slider for where the start of the fuselage is and the end of the fuselage is, so we have percentage completion. That way we could build extremely complex shapes way more efficiently, and also do crazy concave shapes.
    .
    So it's like:
    Start [slider, front end]: 25%
    End [slider, front end]: 52%
    Start [slider, rear end]: 29%
    End [slider, rear end]: 48%
