Bit of a follow-up: After a couple of weeks, several updates have been released and now my designer framerates are quite acceptable. It was possibly a bug with my specific hardware, but the game does perform much better now.
Thanks for watching my video! I'm excited to see where Flyout and SimplePlanes lead in the future. There are some things I didn't cover in the video, such as the overall building experience in each game, but suffice it to say Flyout does have some very advanced features, such as cross-section fuselage editing. Don't worry though, I won't be leaving SP any time soon, but once I upgrade my hardware I might start playing Flyout on a regular basis.

The whole design process in Flyout is relatively simple compared to SP. - very simple basic tools that I use in SP. Misses are relatively easy to implement intuitively here. - The jet turbine design or piston engines is just cool. - pure fun!
- the results are impressive.
IN THE RED CORNER, CHAMPION OF THE MOBILE PLAYERS, LEGACY HOLDER OF AGES, ITS SIMPLEPLANES! IN THE BLUE CORNER, ROOKIE NEWCOMER WITH HIGH HOPES FROM THE FANS, ITS FLYOUTTTT
I've been playing SP on and off (by far mostly off) for over 6 years.
Even without the game itself, the site makes a great forum that's far, far more enjoyable than my brief forays into YouTube commenting.
And it isn't like how I understand Reddit to work (no account) where someone can just stumble upon a small community.
Here, if you're on the site, you probably have played the game.
That's nice.

I don't think it will replace the SP, although it can save a lot of time on the construction of fuselages or wings with complex cross-sections, as well as the livery editor, but it also has quite a few disadvantages, the most obvious is the high performance requirements, followed by the adaptation of the mobile terminal, and there is no SP openness, etc. I think the FO is very promising, and the SP2 may be slightly better if released (I hope the SP2 still supports the current SP's aircraft model) (I suddenly remembered the 12.200 update, hoping to add another knob to adjust the larger value)
@SILVERPANZER I think without updates, SP will probably die down and the community will remain tiny yet consistent within that 2 year period. Hopefully by then the developers will have announced a new project, possibly SP2, by then.
@SILVERPANZER then I wouldn’t make the argument that flyout as a whole outmatches sp for which they were custom made for their respective platforms to play on.
Sense I first saw Flyout, I was in awe of how well the game looked. The plane builder is a lot more intuitive, the physics seem a lot more realistic, and it even has a livery editor. Literally something I’ve been wanting in SP for the longest time. I’m totally going to buy the game and try it out. For me though, it’s not going to replace SimplePlanes. I’ve heard the game has a steep learning curve and considering how ADHD I am, I’m probably going to take months just to finish one plane I’ll be proud of. SimplePlanes has a special place in my heart and considering I’m just now starting to put genuine effort into my builds to publish. I don’t want to abandon that. For me it’s just another new addition to my extensive library of plane games.
Tbh I think most people's time here is coming to an end including me, when I eventually get a serious upgrade to my hardware I will probably make a 2000+ part build and then dip to play other stuff. Will still come back to SP once in a while cause I believe you never truly leave it.

I love it – quite simply

@ZeroWithSlashedO true like... i have more fun blowing random things up in sp, more than any game infact.
@XProAerospaceAircrafts glad you found it helpful!
I've heard about the flyout and I didn't know why they were comparing it with the simpleplanes until I saw this video
@TheTomatoLover yeah that's me. You can hear my playing on the cinematic I did a while back.
@32 are you the pianoman

Why is this giving me Rocky III vibes
no game will ever until the heat death of the universe be close to the level of simple planes

Not saying I am gonna play fly out like I play SP but it looks fun to try.

If they could make flyout mobile then the question can surely be answered.
