CFY-96 Puma
A late 1950s strike fighter
The CFY-96 "Puma" was a mass producerd strikefighter designed and built by the Republic of Gesten.
The Puma was originally meant to be a lightweight air superiority fighter, but before the aircraft was able to enter the prototype phase, another aircraft filled that role, therefore the design was changed to be a medium weight strike fighter.
The first prototype flew in January 1956, and it entered production in October 1957, scoring its first A-A kill in May of 1959.
it was also a testbed for the Republics first A-A guided missile in 1958.
this is the CFY-96B (1958) carrying the VCAAM-96A missile in two of its hardpoints
