About Mk110

Mk110 naval gun carrier is the American model of Mk3 type 57 mm naval gun, manufactured by the joint defense company, Sweden's Bo Fu defense branch. In September 2003, Mk110 Mod 0 was selected on a new marine large safety ship fitted with the United States Coast Guard (former national safety boat), under the coast guard's deep-sea project.The gun is equipped with 3P (prefabricated fragment programmable proximity fuze) ammunition, which is used to destroy air, sea and ground targets. The 3P bomb is set to Mk295 Mod 0, which can improve the tactical flexibility and ammunition performance of Mk110 naval gun.

Scope of use

The United States Navy has approved the use of the Mk110 57 millimeter naval gun of the joint defense industry company as a short-range artillery system for the basic structure of the new DD (X) destroyer, providing critical self-defense and attack capabilities for ships. Mk110 will cooperate with other combat systems of the joint defense company, such as shipboard 155 mm advanced artillery system (AGS) and MK57 vertical launch system
