Peregrine M400A2 Mountain Lion
In World War Two, America's need for a stronger yet more mobile anti-tank gun for infantry charges was recognized. Thus, Peregrine presented the T400. This prototype would be a light tank with a massive 120mm cannon. This cannon was recoilless (to a point) and could handle a Tiger I's frontal armor with ease. The performance of the T400 was extremely desirable, and the official designation M400A1 was given to the first production variants. However, engine problems and a limiting turret caused Peregrine to put forth the M400A2. This tank was more reliable than any other American tank, and they became a favorite among soldiers. M400s served until 1981, when they could no longer fufill military needs. The last variant was the M400A21.
