DAC-50-100
Important info
Controls:
VTOL - flaps
AG1 - reversers, default off
AG8 - lights, default on
I'm fully aware that the plane won't position itself anywhere near the top of the challenge results, but for me just participating in a challenge that allows me to build an airliner is a win
Description
After the DAC-10 line of narrowbody twinjets was created, the next step was planned to be a widebody quadjet, originally expected to be the DAC-20 line. That was however replaced by the DAC-20-100 stretched twinjet, with the focus of the Conglomerate later shifting onto the DAC-30 and the upcoming DAC-40 lines of superheavy transporters, and as such the quadjet was re-designated as the DAC-50.
The wings for the proposed quadjet were already built and even reused on the DAC-20, with the D-2 turbofan engines following soon after. During performance testing it however became apparent that the smaller DAC-50-100 variant simply didn't need the fourth engine, and because of that the design was further split into the DAC-50 trijet and a DAC-55 quadjet.

@DerekSP yeah that’s fine
@DerekSP I see, well I’m definitely looking forward to all that for sure. 😉
@Boeing777x The 30 was meant as a passenger plane with the freight version not being very good, the 40 will have an actual interior and proper cargo doors an-225 style
And I’m guessing that the DAC-40 megatransporters could have both a passenger variant and a freighter variant, and be larger than even the DAC-30, could they not?
Oooooh, a trijet airliner. 😀 Awesome. 😎 And I’m also looking forward to the DAC-55 quadjet as well as the gigantic DAC-40 megatransporters that you got planned. Those would also look pretty epic to see as well. 😉
@asteroidbook345 full disclosure the wings are a subassembly from one of my previous planes, it started off as a placeholder but I really like how it looks and it even makes sense within my epic lore. The engines are newly built just for this though
