Title : As 79
Type : Multirole fighter

short description

Twin-engine, single-seat 4th generation multipurpose fighter. It has excellent maneuverability, high thrust-to-weight ratio, high climb rate, and a large set of weapons. Dangerous fighter for most opponents.

history

The aircraft was developed in the seventies of the twentieth century, in order to modernize the air force. The aircraft attempted to combine all the best technology available at the time of its development and did so successfully.

The aircraft had excellent maneuverability, thanks to TVC and well-calculated aerodynamics. Combined with good armament and auxiliary systems, it was a formidable foe. It was the first non-experimental aircraft to be able to perform a maneuver after stalling, giving it another strong advantage in combat.

The aircraft was upgraded several times, receiving new instrumentation and armament. It is still used to this day as one of the main fighters, along with others. The training modifications are the main training fighters.

control

Ag 1 = Afterburner.
Ag 2 = Activate additional angles for the elevator. (caution : may cause stalling)
Ag 3 = Activate TVC.
Ag 4 = drag chute.

weapons

30 mm autocannon x 1.
Interceptor mk4 x 4.
Intruder mk7 x 2.

Trying the New Format :

Integrated armament:
30 mm cannon in the hull.

Pylons on the wingtips x2 (optional) (Max. payload = 85 kg): -

Outer wing pylons X 2 (Max. payload = 500 kg) : Intruder Mk 7 x 1

Internal wing pylons X 2 (Max. payload = 910 kg) : Inteceptor Mk 4 x 2

Attachment points under air intakes X 4 (Splitters for heavier weapons can be installed. (Reduces the number of suspension points to 2) (Max. payload = 750 kg) : -

Attachment point under the fuselage X 1 (Max. payload = 1700 kg): -

flight perfomance

Top speed :
Near ground : 1389 km/h
1000 m : 1578 km/h .
2500 m : 1793 km/h .
5000 m : 1921 km/h .
10000 m : 2112 km/h .
15000 m : 2250 km/h .
(In TAS)

Stall speed : 190 km/h .
(with full payload, but without outboard weapons, with full flaps)

Flutter Threshold : 2450 km/h

Max altitude : 27000 m .

some instructions

  1. Do not use the AG 2 too often. If pulled too hard, it causes stalling and uncontrolled spinning.
  2. I recommend medium physics. On low, the front chassis behaves strangely.
  3. Intruder is a short-range missile. Remember this. It also has a semi-active homing head. Remember that, too.
  4. Because of the imperfect code the plane has a "Flutter", it starts to twitch a little, which can then turn into a strong flutter and stall. To get rid of this, you need to gain altitude sharply, or (this works better) reduce speed.
  5. For some unknown reason, there is an incomprehensible yaw on the ground. But it is easy to parry and at high speed it disappears.

    @GuyFolk Yes, I just wrote some basic code.

    @Astro12
    You can mix and match code.
    Such as "Pitch +/- PitchRate/x +/- AngleOfAttack/y".

    @GuyFolk
    I can do that too.

    I think I need code for this :
    clamp(Picth - AngleOfAttack/x , -1, 1)
    In X is substituted some number which we need.

    @Astro12
    No, you are limiting pitch rate which has nothing to do with angle of attack.
    The plane will stall if a certain aoa is exceeded regardless of pitch rate.

    @GuyFolk There is a limiter, but I specifically made it to ,,Not more than 120 degrees/sec,, (This is for pitch). I just wanted a very maneuverable plane.

    This plane do PSM nicely.
    If you don't want to stall you can add more FT code to limit angle of attack in elevators and/or tvc. (And turn aoa limiter on when you don't want to PSM)

    @PapaWii This is a demonstration of pre-fender control. I had to dig into the FT code, but it looks and works great.
