The Vickers Windsor was designed by the legendary engineer Barnes Wallis and was intended to be a high altitude heavy bomber. By utilising a pressurised crew cabin the Windsor was capable of reaching 41,000ft and could carry 8,000lbs of ordinance. It used the same labour intensive, geodesic construction method as seen with the Wellington. Defensive armaments was rather imaginative and consisted of 4 guns in 2 barbettes in the outer engines facing backwards. These were controlled by a rear gunner in his own pressurised compartment. Not represented here I'm afraid! And I have to apologise for the crude bomb bay and the magical bombs that seem to multiply. This was another lesson learned!
