The Joegalan T-45 "Harimau" is an Indonesian tank designed and built by Industri Berat Joegalan. Entering service with the Indonesian Army in the late 1996, the tank remained in service, serving alongside the T-30 Merakasastra.

Development
On 1984, the Indonesian youths needed a new tank in order to serve alongside the T-30 Merakasastra. Some tanks that were still in service were obsolete and it's still aging.

Industri Berat Joegalan, an Indonesian youth company, began planning the new tank project. After 3 years of development, the project was then built in Surabaya, and the first prototype rolled out and began to test drive. The tank was later selected by the Indonesian Army to serve alongside the T-30 Merakasastra.

After the test was completed, the first production model was constructed, and all were delivered to the Indonesian Army.

Operational History

The first units were delivered in 1996 with a total of 6 tanks. However, on 1997, because of Asian financial crisis, further orders were put on hold until the crisis was ended. After the end of 1997 Asian financial crisis, deliveries resumed. The last unit ever delivered was in 2013, with a total of 43 units.

All tanks would remain in service with the Indonesian Army, serving alongside the T-30A1 Merakasastra.
