Service
The PDAC-[]-1 was designed to replace the aging F-8 Crusader aircraft and other outdated fighter aircraft that the Philippines Air Force had in their aircraft foster.
Development started in the 70s when a contract of new aircraft began by requirements.
When development of the aircraft finished, and flight testing was finished on the early prototype. Other countries also ordered it, like Indonesia, South Korea, etc.
Early variants came in, notably the A-1A, A-1B, which did not feature the new technology of the new variants, which is the A-1C, A-1D, and lastly, the modern A-1E.
When service began, the feedback on the aircraft was very good, which by the aircraft, was called robust, cheap, easy to maintain, and was reliable in all terms together.
In total, 1,023 orders were made on the aircraft, including export versions for South Korea, Indonesia, etc.
Many A-1s remain, which are mostly in Indonesia as the FA-50 Fighting Eagle replaced it in the Philippines, and in Korea.
