3,690 LjSpike@nicksarusrex the os doesn't care about the number of cores. It doesn't actually know what a couple with 4 cores is. It can read that they're are 4 cores allowing it to display you info, but northbridge, southbridge and the kernel handle putting it into cores.9.3 years ago

37.7k Decrepitactually it has 4 cores that are "hyper threaded" or "turboed" depending on who you talk to. the core i7 has built in 3d graphics capabilities, so no gpu (video card) is necessarily required.of course having a nice video card from nvidia is always going to help. oh and btw when you have 4 cores that are hyper threaded it basically tells the os "hey im actually an 8 core processor!" so your windows or linux or mac will be like " k thanks!" and tada your os and cpu just got married9.3 years ago
