this was based on a fowler steam tratr from the late 1800s they were used for almost everything and had many sizes a large one like this would be used for hauling heavy machinery from farm to farm SUTCH as threashing machines they were used as portable engines too smalle ones were used for ploughing I'll make a plough and farming equipment for it later these machines are very interesting and beutiful to see run I suggest you go to an english steam fair as the engines there are superb unlike some american locos that look very crude compared yo fairground locos of the UK

I just built one of these traction engines and it was a fun build i suggest that you try building one that has a rotating piston and detail the side wheel more

@hypnotoad lol the AVRO TRIPLANE has no scilencer and its start up is compared to a mortar firing (witch I've seen at a ww1 reenactment) it's the pilot says clear and they turn on the magneto and spin the prop and I just goes BOOM crackle crackle and then starts you also never forget the ploakarpov po-2 it sounds like a horrible old desil tractor exept 10x louder and above you

@PlanesOfOld Ahhhh crikey. I have been to a fair few air shows in my time but I have NEVER been 10 ft away from any plane on start up, must be a thing to behold. Sounds well worth it. Your a lucky man.

@hypnotoad lol I suggest you go to a shuttle air show the evening ones I the summer when there's no wind so the Edwardian birds can fly it's totaly worth the experience of having a ww1 plane start up 10ft away from you and taxi onto a grass runway then climb and land if ur lucky you can see the oldest airworthy plane in the world it's 106 years old and can get to about 5m off the ground and there is the english eletric wren that can get 3ft altitude on a good day lol I'm lucky shuttle is About 30mins-1 hr away from me you can get a shuttle bus ;)

YES dude, it looks amazing (will have to download and test out later tonight) but just on looks alone its 5 starts mate, crikey, does your imagination ever run dry. you know you could somehow, perhaps adapt this to have attachments (like the old traction engines had) like a plow chain, or an old school merry go round,or a pum or something cool. may be a step to far but if anyone can... its you dude!!
