The FE-102 is a single engine, wood framed, army based dive bomber. The plane uses wood to make up the frame, to decrease weight and cost. The single-peice greenhouse canopy is also a product of this. The prototype, XE-102A, had a shorter tail, and was made for carrier operations. The wood was found to rot quickly under the sea air and the plane was modified for ground service. The plane has no cannons and is equiped with an impressive 1000 kg bomb. Due to an all wood frame, it is slightly nose heavy.
