Hey Everyone, Zerø here. I decided I wanted to remake the Hornet.
Hornet.
Hornet...
Uhhh, Horned.
Maybe Wasp? Uh, yeah probably.
Introduction:
The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornet is an American twin engine, carrier based, multirole combat aircraft that is known for it's user friendliness. Though the F/A-18 isn't directly supposed to be the F-14's successor, it ended up replacing the mighty Tomcat because of it's relatively low cost compared to the Tomcat.
Loadout:
- 1x M61A1 Vulcan
- 2x AIM-9X Sidewinder
- 1x AIM-120C AMRAAM
- 2x AGM-88H SLAM-ER
- 2x AGM-154A-1 JSOW
- 1x AN/AAQ-28(V) LITENING
- 1x AN/AWW-13 Advanced Datalink Pod
- 60x Flares (2/tap), 60x Chaff (1/tap)

Features:
- Fully functional (not really, mostly just aesthetical) carrier capable aircraft, complete with a launch bar, folding wings, and an arresting hook.
- Functional LITENING pod.
- Accurate flaps modes. Change with VTOL down. Pull to half or more and it will change to Half Flaps. Pull to full and it will change to Full Flaps. Return it to neutral or above half and it will change to Auto.
- Refueling capabilities. I needed to bring back something from the original Hornet, no?

Author's Notes:
- I had troubles with landing this thing on the carrier so, expect some trouble, but to give you some tip: The ideal glide on this aircraft (or what I like to call, the "groove") is 7-10° nose up from 150-170 knots.
- Since the JSOWs are "passive-radar" guided, please be careful with how fast you tap. These things have next to no firing delay.
- Half and Full flaps will only work below 250 knots IAS. So if you want to see them in action, go below said speed.
- Trim is present and they're your good friends. Use it wisely.
Other than that, hope you enjoy this remake.

@ZeroWithSlashedO thx for ur time and effort on this project its a mastertpiece even if its not perfect i apreciate the fact you take the time to make it so accurate and explained it to me have a good day!!
@Jackrap
I've tried making an accurate suspension of the Hornet back when I first made it, but unfortunately it bugged out, due to... Honestly, I'm not sure why myself, but basically that made it impossible for me to do any sort of suspension outside of the tire's suspension itself.
I may retry to fix said issue, but for now you have to put up with it.
@ZeroWithSlashedO can u in the futur just upgrade the landing gear on it they are to hard and its near impossible to land it without bouncing and make the missile touch the ground and blow up but its just this thx if u can reply or make an upgrade for this hornet its near perfection.
@GorillaGuerrilla
Wanted to remake the Hornet, since I don't really see alot of them.
...Aside from, of course, the Wasp.
why not make e/f super hornet?
hornets never get boring
Have pretty interesting missiles, I like them
@TheGoodDogJackie
my buddy, I appreciate you making your own plane, but please don't advertise your creation on someone else's
@Krikkit42
ah yeah ok thanks for pointing that out
also, I just put both because I thought it's funny
Yo, u can also try out my new plane. Which is very very very cool
Legacy Hornet with JSOW and SLAM-ER (which are AGM-84H, by the way, not AGM-88) ? I wonder which nation can pull that off … Finland maybe?
Bottom gun?1?1?1!2?2?1?1?1?2!211?1?11?!11??1!1!1?11!!11?1?1!
@ZeroWithSlashedO what? i wouldn't say the Legacy is the same as the Super Hornet. the f-18 connoisseurs would be banging on my door if i say that they're both the same
@teddyone02
you're thinking about the super hornet
not the legacy hornet, which is well tbf similar
but you wouldn't say these both are the same
@ZeroWithSlashedO i thought it was 2025, bruh 💀
@ZeroWithSlashedO i think its good that they replace the hornet. ill miss the hornets.
@teddyone02
production has already stopped for the hornet.
the super hornet is bound to be replaced by the lightning ii. There's not really a reason to keep the hornet.
just like how the hornet replaced the tomcat.
i will miss this legendary asf plane.
production will stop in 2025. idfk if its real or nah but if anything happens to the hornet, i would be depressed af
ef aytin
Ay, its the Horny boy
