The 205 series (205?, 205-kei) is a DC electric multiple unit (EMU) commuter train type introduced in 1985 by Japanese National Railways (JNR), and currently operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East), West Japan Railway Company (JR West) and Kereta Commuter Indonesia in Indonesia.

Control:

Trim: Move forward/backward
AG3: Rear Magnet
AG4: Front Magnet

JR 205 has been operating in Japan from 1985 until now, beginning with its service on main lines such as Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku, Chuo-Sobu, Saikyo, and Yokohama, to switch to the main lane which is not as dense as the Nambu, Keiyo, and Musashino for the JR East operational area, and in the Tokaido, Hanwa and Nara lines for the JR West operational area. Over time, these KRL's are diverted to branch lines, or are sold to Indonesia or other operators in Japan, namely Fujikyu Railway. The price of this KRL imported to Indonesia is Rp. 1 billion / unit, and is sold in several series.

In general, the series that operate in Japan and are imported to Indonesia consist of 6, 8, or 10 train units. This KRL 205 series was first imported by PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (now PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia) at the end of 2013 and is planned to continue until 2020. With a large number, this KRL can dominate the Jabodetabek crossing, and now all Jabodetabek crossings have been traversed by KRL 205 series. This KRL has resistor control (rheostat) and VVVF-IGBT technology, and because most of the KRL has rheostat technology, all traffic in Jabodetabek can also be passed easily

Note:

KRL (Kereta Rel Listrik) is EMU (Electric Multiple Unit)
