CF-100 Mk.5D Canuck
~~~~ Hyper-Realistic Series~~~~
(BETA BROKEN)
VTOL = Landing Gear (slide down)
The Avro Canada CF-100 Canuck was a Canadian jet interceptor/fighter serving during the Cold War both in NATO bases in Europe and as part of NORAD. The CF-100 was the only Canadian-designed fighter to enter mass production, serving primarily with the RCAF/CAF and in small numbers in Belgium. For its day, the CF-100 featured a short takeoff run and high climb rate, making it well suited to its role as an interceptor.
The two-seat fighter crewed by a pilot and navigator was designed with two powerful engines and an advanced radar and fire control system housed in its nose that enabled it to fly in all-weather or night conditions. The first production models were armed with eight .50 caliber machine guns. Some models were later equipped with rocket pods instead of wingtip fuel tanks.
Near the end of her service, a handful of Mk. 5 variants were converted to the electronic countermeasure/electronic warfare model, the Mk. 5D. These variants were stripped of offensive armament and equipped with ECM/EW components and wingtip fuel tanks. The additional tanks granted increased loitering time and greater range.
When Cedy117 had asked me to add details to his Cf-100, I fell in love with the old warbird. This version is rooted in his plane’s chassis but was essential rebuilt from the ground up. I adjusted the scaling and dimensions to more accurately represent the real plane. But because it doesn't have any missiles or other bells and whistles, heavy emphasis was placed on appearance and performance. I think this is one of the most aesthetically pleasing planes I've built and she handles like a dream! A great plane for pilots at any skill level.
As a side note, I've decide to place people’s requests on hold until the update drops. I apologize for the wait, but the new pieces look amazing and I want to deliver top quality replicas of your favorite planes!
Enjoy!
25.5k Scriefers@LordofLego the beta/new update changed the drag and air intake system in the game so now this plane lists to one side and has decreased thrust. A lot of my planes (especially my prop planes) have become broken due to the new coming update...9.2 years ago
16.2k LordofLegoHey, what happened to the original Canuck?9.2 years ago
31.1k Spikeryacan u make a hyper realistic J-20?9.3 years ago
5,093 FauxRealestThank you for the suggestions, but even on low my planes get laggy. I have about 3 unfinished planes just waiting for a PC aha. Impossible to make the intricate designs I want with my current capability. Are there more features on PC? Or is it just an enhanced version of this? Either way, Im ecstatic. This is the type of game I've been waiting for since I was a child and it can only get better from here9.3 years ago
25.5k Scriefers@ImFauxReal Yeah I remember my destitute college days... Try playing around with the in-game settings. Generally the physics settings eat up a lot of memory and cause issues/lag, so I always have it set to low on my iPad. Graphics settings can remain high for the most part depending on the size of the planes. You should take a look through some of the planes that have come out since your recess. I feel like you can learn a lot from the new techniques that have been developed by dissecting the planes.9.3 years ago
5,093 FauxRealestVery frustrating most of my projects never get completed due to the memory restrictions on iPad. I feel like a master artist with an ambulated hand lol9.3 years ago
5,093 FauxRealestI absolutely want to Scriefs, however my computer decided to pass away recently and have no extra income for quite awhile till I finish college :'(9.3 years ago
16.2k LordofLegoWell, I'll be damned. The Lightning bolts do come out right. I just never noticed them, I guess.9.3 years ago
-
16.2k LordofLegoI found that turning down the water settings helped a little when playing with big boats.9.3 years ago
-
25.5k Scriefers@LordofLego Yeah, on mobile devices its usually only the physics settings that eats up a lot of processing power and causes lag. On my tablet I keep the physics settings low but run everything else high without any issues. Occasionally I come across planes that self-destruct when using low physics, but its not nearly as common as it used to be.9.3 years ago
-
16.2k LordofLegoI didn't even notice they were there until Andrew Garrison posted a picture on the forum showing off your plane in the Beta map. I suppose I could have just not seen them. I use high graphics and shadows to make it look pretty and low physics and water to keep out lag.9.3 years ago
-
25.5k Scriefers@LordofLego This plane should run just fine with all settings set to high. I haven't come across a device that struggles with this one; it has a pretty low part count. What settings are you using, and can you describe how the bolts look funny at the settings?9.3 years ago
16.2k LordofLegoWhat graphics settings do you need to use to make the Lightning bolts look right?9.3 years ago
25.5k Scriefers@ImFauxReal oh well rotators and floats have been around for a while now. But the beta is currently out for the coming update and it's great! A new island was added, day/night cycles, dynamic weather, and even more new pieces! It should be available of iOS in a day or two, but if you got 10 bucks to spare, I highly suggest buying the PC/Mac version.9.3 years ago
-
5,093 FauxRealestOh, the updates are recent? I felt so behind I had to rush and make a plane with the rotators. Crazy how accurate the physics are now, you should try it out. GOLVULCAN9.3 years ago
25.5k Scriefers@ImFauxReal No way! Welcome back, my dude! Your timing couldn't have been better. This update is awesome! And thanks for the kind words!9.3 years ago
5,093 FauxRealestJust came by to see if my man scriefers still played. So great to see you still here, your planes have improved in quality tenfold. I've got a lot of catching up to do!9.3 years ago
25.5k ScriefersNeutral buoyancy means it doesn't float or sink, but remains suspended at a desired depth. If its a boat you're making, you'd want positive buoyancy (aka floating).9.3 years ago
-
3,690 LjSpike@LjSpike Neutral bouyancy is the minimum bouyancy required...as the fusilage shouldn't normally touch the water, but incase it does...thats why neutral bouyancy is useful.9.3 years ago
-
3,690 LjSpike@Scriefers Im making some boats, a small one I made called the Utopia boat I very much liked, and im thinking of constructing a large version of it...But im not the best at fusilages...because I cant XML edit or do really extremely advanced clipping. Pretty much an airplane fusilage, with a deck on the back, thrusters included...able to float. Roughly the size of a simpleplanes transport plane im thinking of doing for the scale. :)9.3 years ago
-
25.5k Scriefers@LjSpike This is a rather unusual request and I don't think I am quite following you here. Are you essentially looking for a submarine body? I am not quite sure how to make something neutrally buoyant (the camera doesn't go underwater). If its a replica and you got pics, I'll see what I can do. But most of my time now is being dedicated to testing the beta for the dev's.9.3 years ago
-
3,690 LjSpike@Scriefers Hey scriefers, I really need a fuselage, similar to a plane fuselage but neutral buoyancy and a 'deck' at the back. I need to be able to connect things at the back middle, the forward area of the sides, it also needs to have some reasonable engine put into it. (Preferably it should be overbouyant if possibly). The fuselage is bigger than a fighter, so normal simpleplanes transport size really. Hope you might be able to help!9.3 years ago
