Auto Credit Based on Jundroo's P-51-B

The original P51-B turned into a flying wing with a pusher configuration.

The engines turned backward as pusher Props!

the original P51-B

This is how the concept was changed form the original P51, I have cut, copy, paste, screw the wings into the swept wings, and rotate the engines in PhotoShop, to get a general idea of the new X-P51.2. Aug/3/2024

History

John Knudsen Northrop (November 10, 1895 – February 18, 1981) was an American aircraft industrialist and designer who founded the Northrop Corporation in 1939.

Ref: Wikipedia

Jack Northrop began working on all-wing aircraft designs in the late 1920s. His first flying wing research prototype was built between 1928 and 1930. The Northrop N-1M (Northrop Model 1 Mockup), also known as the "Jeep," is an American experimental aircraft used in the development of the flying wing concept by Northrop Aircraft during the 1940s. Following the success of the N-1M, the U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF) launched a competition for a flying wing aircraft. In 1943, Win'sWings Design Bureau built a prototype of a heavy fighter using existing parts of the North American P51-B due to the wartime shortage of materials. The plane was named X-P51-2 and used the original P51 cockpit and two Rolls-Royce V-1650-7 Merlin engines in pusher configurations. Armed with 2x20mm canons and six 0.5 inch machine gunds. Due to the develpment of new jet engines, and also technical difficulties on the controls, the project was closed, and only one prototype has been built.

The inspiration

XP-51.2 is a fictional flying-wing heavy fighter created by Win's Wings inspired by Northrop N-1M and YB-35 Bomber based on existing P51B airframe (by @Jundroo) and engines. 8/2024

Beautiful and non-credible enough to have been plausible in real life.
