On Febuary 1st, 1899, the Wright Brothers (Wilber and Orivle Wright) made the first controlled and sustained flight in the Wright Flier 01, the flight lasted 2.5 minutes before the engines over heated. The project started in August 1898, then getting funded by the USL Government in January 1899. Although planes got Reaserched & Developed after that, Man wouldn't fly until 6 years later, in 1905 thanks to Fedrick Holt. Due to no wires to help keep stable, the aircraft was very wobbly. The Flier crashed in 1900 during a demonstration, but luckily the flier wasnt badly damaged. The Flier 01 sits in the Aeronuatical Muesem in New Jessy.
