Auto Credit Based on Calliope's No Wing Challenge 2024 [ENDED]
a restored image of the XH-83 taking off from the USS Tiny —1947
The XH-83 is an early attempt at an helicopter. The aircraft was developed around the final months of WW2. The prototype made many flights showing helicopters are possible, though its fate is unknown. The aircraft went missing around March of 1950. The aircraft paved way for more helicopters to show up and be a giant industry in the late 20th century and the early 21st century.
