McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle
The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle is an American, twin-engine, all-weather tactical air superiority fighter aircraft designed by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) for the USAF. The Eagle first flew in 1972, entered service in 1976. It is among the most successful modern fighters, with over a 100 victories and no losses in aerial combat, with the majority of the kills conducted by the Israeli Air Force.
The aircraft has been exported to Japan, Israel, and Saudi Arabia. It also has an improved all-weather strike derivative version, the F-15E Strike Eagle. There is also a Japanese variant, the Mitsubishi F-15J, and a technology demonstrator, the F-15 STOL/MTD that was used by the USAF and NASA.
