5,105 DOYOUMIND  yesterday

The Fiat G.95 (affectionally known as “Thinner”) was an Italian replacement for the F-104G Starfighter, created in 1975 by Nonito Vallini. The G.95 was created as a 3.5 gen fighter, making use of ARH missiles and Fly-by-wire. The aircraft suffered from a weak rudder, but still had good preformance. In 1976, the Italian air force, and German air force placed orders for 300 of the type. They proved great fighters in combat, with a 4:1 Kill-Loss ratio. The G.95 was designed to carry the Octavian and Nero missiles, both italian copies of the Aim-9F and Aim-120 AMRAAM respectively. The aircraft saw service until 2015, when it was retired by the Lithuanian air force in favor of the F-16.
