1905 Xiphias Biplane
'Twas in the wicker seat of this plane on a foggy day in June 1905 that Mr Xiphias sat, moustache and all gaizing into the distance,
For it was this day that he would take to the skies and become the first man to fly on this island, his home built aircraft creaked and squeaked as the ground crew wheeled her into position and placed chocks under her wheels, just then Mr Xiphias raised his hand, and the GC swung the propellor around, after a long while of swinging the prop around, the giant gleaming brass V-12 burst into life, Mr Xiphias raised his hand again, and the crew quickly tugged on some ropes, releasing the chocks from under the aircraft's belly, the V-12 roared louder as the throttle was engaged, and the aircraft gradually began to lurch forward at an alarming rate! Bumping along the grass at high speed the aircraft zoomed past watching islanders, then it leapt into the air climbing steadily it banked slowly turned and did a high speed run back to the ground crew, the engine was rattling flying wires buzzing like and orchestra of untuned violins! The plane climed away and turned again this time traveling even faster making more noise! The propellor was whirring the toolbox was clattering and the mighty V-12 was roaring louder than ever before, she was going faster and faster and faster than Mr Xiphias ever designed her to go! meanwhile on the ground everyone was cheering and looking on as their local mad inventor zoomed around in his flying machine, suddenly an eerie creek sounded, louder than the engine! A Scotsman pointed at the plane and shouted 'she can't teak no' more!'
Mr Xiphias directed the plane towards the ground, but by the it was too late, the main spar on the left wing snapped and the plane went into a roll, leavingXiphias plummeting to his eventual doom, a broken arm and 4 weeks in hospital :) only to succeed in rebuilding this plane and flying it again four months later
Yes, this is the fabled first XVI plane,
Featuring actualy working WING WARPING!
ENJOY

I noticed that @PlanesOfOld
@ThePrototype And it has glitchy but working wing warping!
Very nice, I like the plane @PlanesOfOld
@ThePrototype
@IlK7 well done!
I went from Yeager to Bandit airport on It
@MeetThyDoom
The roll system is called wing warping, I use it on most of these, but I've only just adopted this method lol @Viper28
I gave it a review on the blog
This is great, I'd upvote it just for the story but the plane is awesome aswell!
lol ok sound cool I'll check it out some time @XVIindustries
Oh and most of the aircraft of the shuttle worth collection, Bristol boxkite, AVRO IV triplane Blackburn mono deperdussin A and many others are in that movie, and it also features a lot of other cool things and some quite hilarious machines, that is if you haven't seen it, it's on Amazon prime I think :) well worth the watch, and the laughs it's an old style comedy, sorta slapstick :) but mostly factual with the planes and they all flew but obviously some 60s movie magic in between when the actors are in the cockpit lol @Cedy117
I have had something in mind for a while... I nicknamed the design 'stretcher bearer' it uses a fuselage in the middle with four large strutsat the front and rear holding large biplane wings facing backwards into the middle so you fly under a sort of roof made of wings the bottom set have wing warping and there is a propellor suspended beneath the small fuselage, it has big skids at the bottom for the landing gear aswell, I think it may be a cool design, if u want to have a go. Or alternatively you could create the opposite, instead of being under the wing you place the fuselage on top of some kind of whacky system possibly a decaplane or something :) but these are very XVI styles ideas (whacky as hell but they probably will work to some extent lol)
How about a flappy thing :) or some kind of more conventional plane, for inspiration you could watch ThoseMagnificentMenInTheirFlyingMachines (or how I flew from London to Paris in 25hrs and 11 minuets) ;) lots of good old planes in there @Cedy117
Awsome do you want to help me with a wing warping system I'm going to try to make a early 1900s Cedco again just trying to think of a unique Design like a flying wing or something cool @XVIindustries
Yeah, but this is more like how they did it, it was basicly just bending the tip of the wing and lifting it up at the same time to cause roll, in my opinion this is more like the real thing, but if u made the wing more bendy it would be even more realistic, I can't do that cause lag lol @AeroEngineering
@Cedy117 @CarterIndustries I spent about half an hour making that chair lol it's meant to be based on a wicker garden chair, something the rich landlord would have had in his conservatory in around 1905 :) there's a toolbox and a tin of castor oil too, :) glad u liked it! :) but the Xiphias monoplane is still my favorite of the two :)
I downloaded this about 15 minutes ago and was flying her since!
@XVIindustries wow, just,wow, and amazing and awesome and beautiful, just cool, just inspiration, just that chair, just majestic, wow
THAT CHAIR THOUGH lol this is great nice job look and handles like an old pile of sticks to lol
and btw i did wing warping like that a while ago
i love your story.
@SpiritusRaptor I did it m8! I made working wing warping!
