Description

The Alpha-3 fighter is a straight-wing, jet monoplane with tapered elevators and vertical stabilizer. It has an enclosed cockpit, tricycle retractable landing gear and is armed with 4 wing-mounted, magic cannons. Unlike the Marin, this aircraft is driven by a Chant Powered, Light Magic-Compressed Air Discharge Engine. The principle behind this powerplant is similar to that of a primitive pulse jet, in which air is sucked in through the main intakes and magic fuel is blown out the rear for thrust. The jet is said to be able to reach speeds greater than 400 kph (249 mph). The fighter itself was based on the ancient technology of the Ravernal Empire. However, unlike the Ravernal Empire's fighters, the Alpha-3 is incapable of reaching supersonic speeds.
