Neubaufahrzeug-1

7,395 atzh  4.7 years ago

The NbFz tank (German: Neubaufahrzeug, meaning "new structure vehicle") was a plan developed by Hitler to allow the Germans to have their own heavy tanks. The multiple turrets of the NbFz tank are heavy and slow, making this tank very unsuitable for blitz, so only five were discontinued. Although three participated in the Norwegian battle in 1940, the main purpose of this tank was to promote German industrial technology On April 22, the tank encountered a line of defense composed of the British and Norwegians. The British armed Boss anti-tank rifle could easily penetrate the tank's armor. After several blows, a crew member was killed and the tank retreated. Other Germans continued to advance and attacked the British flank, forcing them to retreat. No one knows what happened to these vehicles after the Norwegian battle, but it is certain that none of the NbFz survived. According to documents found by the United Kingdom in 1945, the remaining NbFz tanks were scrapped in 1941 and began to be implemented in 1942. The scrap date of the tank is also unclear, but it has been considered to be the date when the construction of the Sturer Emil prototype started. the same. According to modern German documents, in June 1941, three NbFz tanks were incorporated into the First Armored Division. They battled with BT-7 and were destroyed in Ukraine today. Although there is no surviving NbFz, there are parts left from it that are currently stored in the Gudbrandsdal War Memorial collection in Kvam, Norway.
