Aerostyle Project 1 (1914) Medium Bomber
The designs for this plane were only recently discovered after rumaging through John Style's (the founder of Aerostyle) belongings. This one was designed, built, and tested in 1914, when World War 1 was raging on in Europe. It had been submitted to the United States Army Air Force and been rejected for being "too radical". The British and the French already had similar designs in use, and this caused John Style to become enraged. In his fury, he burned down the warehouse storing this fine craft, and only recently was it rebuilt for display purposes, though it does fly. It tends to nose up in flight, and takes off on its own! It can fly ~170 miles per hour, which was a normal speed for the time. It has two gunners (one in the nose, one in the mid-fuselage) and a pilot. Enjoy!
