DESCRIPTION

Talos-I, or simply Talos-I was a high-altitude, semi-active, strategic Surface-to-Air Missile system developed in Imperium Obelia and manufactured by Thales Industry with components produced by Kola Arm Industry. Talos-I was designed to replaced older SAM missiles and to counter the increasingly higher altitude Allied bombers. It has 20km-45km maximum range and was pretty accurate at the time. It was the most produced among other similar missile within the Central Trinity Coalition and the most successful as well during The 35 Years War.

DEPLOYMENT HISTORY

By 1950s, Imperium had slowly loses its grip on the sky above. The fleets that acted as their naval backbone had either decimated or had too little ship to be useful. Imperial High Command noticed that this war would not be able to be won by offense anymore. The role has shifted and now the Imperium is on defense.
The dawn of jet aircraft rendered high caliber AA Gun useless and phasing out as they can easily be knocked out by faster jet aircraft or bombers, so they need a better alternatives. "Talos-I" was the second serial of mass produced SAM missile, deployed mainly to protect the beaches alongside the defensive lines. As the war goes, the system proven itself to be more than capable of targeting high-altitude recon aircraft and strategic bombers. So more and more of this missile system produced and deployed around strategic location and cities. The system remain in use even after the war ends and thousands remain in service today in Monteluz Principality and Irelian Empire.
