history

The plane began to be developed in 1942, as an experimental model. They wanted to test a new layout of the power system on it. It would enable the aircraft to maneuver at very low speeds.

This arrangement created a constant flow of air on the aerodynamic planes, so that they remained effective even when the plane was almost stationary. It was not possible to control the roll, because of the location of the ailerons, but yaw and pitch worked well.

The plane was not in large series, only 16 units were produced. But not to occupy too many numbers, it was assigned 47 with the letter "E" after the mark. This caused some confusion with another plane, which had the same number, but the letter "E" was missing.

The plane did not take a strong part in the war, but a couple of hundred successful missions of the squadron staffed by this plane.
