BN's warm relations with the Robanian military dated back to the 510s. Thus, it comes as no surprise that their successful racer, the BNR.29, doubled as a prototype fighter. Dubbed "Blyzawka" (Thunder) by its creators, its enemies had a host of different names for it - almost all of them instilling a sense of dread in pilots facing this fast, highly-maneuverable aircraft.
A number of factors limited its production, including limited fuel and armor to engage in prolonged dogfights, though it would go on to become Robania's chief interceptor against the rocket and jet powered bombers faced later in the wars.
