VVA-14-VTOL-VR
VVA-14 VTOL
Made especially for VR
The VVA-14 was conceived during the cold war in the 1960's by renowned aerospace designer, Robert Bartini as an anti-submarine VTOL weapon for the Soviet Union. It is often classed as an Ekranoplan because it was intended to fly close to the water and harness "the ground effect". Prototypes were built but the project never achieved VTOL functionality and was cancelled by the 1970's.
This build of the VVA-14 tries to give the feeling of how the plane might have behaved if had met its design specifications, with VTOL capabilities, close to ground flight, and the ability to take off from, and land upon water by deploying inflatable pontoons. It was intended to be fly-by wire system.
Quick Start Guide:
In the Cockpit press the start button(Activate1)and retract the landing gear to take off VTOL. Joystick for maneuvering, Throttle for sustained speed . At flight speed it automatically transitions to fixed wing flight and switches over from its hover to its flight engines. You can disable the VTOL with a cockpit switch (Activate2) and it will fly like a regular big clumsy airplane, if you absolutely must but you don’t need to, because in VTOL mode its wicked. To land on water slow to a hover and activate the pontoons.
Features:
• VR Friendly. Easy to Fly.
• Vertical Take off and Landing. VTOL
• Smoothly transitions from VTOL to fixed wing flight at 290Kph.
• WSAD control Friendly
• Includes a "Dipping Sonar" which doesn't have a sensor in it, but makes fun "Ping" sounds.
• Can deploy Depth Charges, (Hold down the Fire-weapons button for explosions)
• Deploy pontoons for smooth Take-off & Landing on water.
• Autopilot Carrier Landing
• PID Guided Torpedo Shots (Up to 5km with incredible accuracy)
You can fly it like an airplane, but its much better as an Ekranoplan because when you do, it becomes.....
The Ultimate Torpedo Runner.
Use one or all of its 30 torpedo's to take out the USS beast and its escorts.. Fail, and play chicken with the missiles from the destroyers. Lower is better.
Activate1 - Starts VTOL engines
Activate2 - Regular Flight Override
Activate3- Water Landing Pontoons
Activate4 - Engages Torpedo Target or Carrier Landing Solution.
Activate5 - Deploys Dipping Sonar
Activate6 - Changes Roll to Yaw
Activate7 - Set Altitude Override
Activate8 - Disables gyros and Engine
VTOL slider - for higher/Lower cruising and carrier landing.
To Use Torpedo Firing Solution.
Select the Torpedo weapon. Approach target from the side.
Slow down to 160kph and Click the "intercept" button. Activate4.
The PID takes over steering, flying directly towards the predicted position of target. Fire Torpedo from up to 5 km away.
To Auto-Land on a Carrier
Select Air to Ground and the weapon named "Carrier Landing". Choose a Carrier Type in the Cockpit. Approach the carrier from the rear and Select the "intercept button" and wait for craft to settle into hover above carrier. Extend the landing gear for a smooth Landing.
VVA-14 VTOL - The way it was intended.

@Varrell007 Yes. As close as I could to Bartini's design concept, but I took it further than the actual plane was developed. Hopefully I did him justice.
Bartini beriev?
Awesome!
I have heard of this plane I never thought that anyone would build it!!!!! This plane is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@JuanShot2Go It should be fine
@ReinMcDeer Yes big fan of mustard and I subscribe to his stream, where I found the VVA-14. Do you know if it's allowed on to to link to content creators on other platforms?
mustard
Thanks everyone for the upvotes.
@Karmen ik
Thanks. Is that what they meant by it was painted 'Aeroflot" colors? I tried to look it up but it was in Russian. No there have been a few good attempts at this oddity over time. This is the first VTOL version.
Wow. I think ur the first guy to make this aircraft
@DrenasPort There is no civilian camo... it’s called a paint job.
the first versions had a civil plane camo
