[ Description ]

Macross

The MBR-07 Destroid Spartan was born as a humanoid-type weapon from the UN Forces ambulatory weapons program. Designed for close hand-to-hand combat, the Spartan was the second-place participant of the ambulatory weaponry competition. Development of the MBR-07 followed one year and two months after the first MBR-04 series destroids began design in 2003. The Spartan then entered trial production in February 2005 and by January 2008 Mk I units were beginning first rollout. All Mk I units were later upgraded into Mk II units.

Unlike the MBR-04 series, the MBR-07 Spartan series was developed jointly by Centinental and the Kransmann Group. Another significant divergence from the MBR-04 series was the absence of any auxiliary generator in this close-combat attack model destroid, due to the increased power of the main engine. The rugged silhouette has a wide range of motion in addition to the swivel capability of the waist and wrists. Although the Spartan achieved high mobility performance, problems developing the engine and power transmission system delayed production. Regardless, considerable numbers of Spartans were deployed to the front lines due to high acclaim for its operation, which combined heavy armor and high mobility.

The Spartan is easy for a VF pilot to handle because the VF Battroid mode cockpit was based upon the design concept of the MBR-07. The Spartan was actively used in suppression of Zentradi insurgencies (Macross Chronicle 2E Mechanic Sheet TV UN 10A). Valkyrie pilot Hikaru Ichijo operated a Spartan in battle against Zentradi malcontents at the Highlander City airport in late 2011.

Skypark

Following the first defeats of Executor mechs, the Skypark army began a rigorous process of reverse engineering to develop a mech to counter these highly mobile weapons. With local company Centinental Engineering leading the way, and German manufacturing company Krauss-Maffei giving support, progress went at a rapid pace, with even a small more labor oriented robot call Worker Drones being developed alongside and put into production(following legal action from Glitch Productions 😅). Built with heavy armor, bristling with missiles, and a unique gun cluster ahead of the cabin, the Spartan is purpose made as a mech killer, even armed with a massive club should it's guns and missiles not defeat an enemy. The Spartan outclasses all prior mechs made by Skypark, and is the first of many new and formidable weapons.
