Desing History
SX-023 (named ''Miracle'') was one of the prototypes designed by Dorah Shipyards for the CCD (Common Combat Destroyer) Project in 2002
CCD (renamed Sea Gale Program in 2003) was one of dozens of projects launched to keep pace with ESAF's changing doctrines and hoped to replace three existing Destroyer classes with a single ship.
However, the CCD Project was postponed due to resource cuts and the SX-023 Prototype remained in the hands of Dorah Shipyards.
The aim of the CCD project was to build a new generation destroyer with low radar and sonar visibility, equipped with new generation weapon systems.
The project not only pushed the limits of the period, but also the budget of the Navy and Dorah.
Although the project was shelved, the performance of the prototype Dorah Shipyards continued to develop the SX-023 Prototype, but although the Admirals were positive about the project, the MoD did not increase the Navy's budget.
Although Dorah Shipyard offered a different version of the SX-023 to various navies in 2004, it was not successful. In 2007, Dorah Shipyards managed to enter the ship into the FDX (Future Destroyer Experimental) Program of the Iser Navy, but the sale and tests of the prototype were blocked by the government.
Like the CCD, the SX-023 was also quite expensive, and Dorah Shipyards was beginning to shrink due to the slowly deteriorating economy of Estaria.
Dorah Shipyards was a major ship supplier to the Estarian Navy and a major supporter of then-President Nren Berge and his government, so the MoD gave the Navy sufficient budget to order an additional five ships in addition to the existing SX-023 Prototype.
Even though the order for two ships was cancelled, this sale was enough to bring Dorah Shipyards back from the brink of bankruptcy.
By 2006, the Navy had lost interest in the SX-023 Prototype, and no senior officers wanted these ships to remain in active duty, as it was thought that using the ship on active duty would harm the Sea Gale program.
Although the first ship of the series, ENS Miracle, was delivered to the navy in 2007, none of them were used on an active duty.
Operation History
Although the first two ships of the series (ENS Miracle MCV-74,ENS Gospel MCV-73) remained on active duty for 3 months, they began to be used in weapons tests by NAVRECOM (Navy Research Command) at the end of 3 months.
