The Ki-61 is a Japanese WW2 fighter known for being the only mass produced Japanese aircraft to be powered by a water-cooled inline engine, a licensed copy of the Bf-109E's engine. Initially the Japanese air force was skeptical of the plane because of its high wing loading and bad turning capabilities compared to the Ki-43, but accepted it into service after it proved faster and much more durable than the Ki-43.

Features

  • Realistic flight model with propeller torque and p-factor effects

  • Realistic top speed, climb rate, turn rate and high-speed control lockup

  • Realistic but simplified cockpit that should be VR-compatible, untested

  • 2 x Ho-103 (12.7 mm), 2 x MG151/20 (20 mm)

  • Custom flaps (VTOL slider), control surfaces, landing gear and canopy (AG7)
