The result of the CBF (Carrier-Borne Fighter) program. We settled with a canard layout to provide the best forward vision for the pilot. The intended powerplant for use, a 2,000+ horsepower AEM-2 series unit, was unfortunately not ready in time, and thus performance does not quite meet the original specifications. Instead, it uses the flight proven AEM-1W of 1,750 hp. Despite this apparent shortcoming, it shows to be a formidable aircraft, with exceptional manouevrability and intuitive controls.
