T-5 Angel REMASTER

147k Pilotmario  7.1 years ago

VTOL for flaps.

A remaster of a classic design. Unique among remasters in that it isn't a successor of the original, as this is a completely new plane whose only lineage to the original is by name. Where should we begin? It's a modern trainer aircraft with a turboprop engine and performance comparable to World War II-era prop fighters.

Nothing really special, other than the economy to run this plane. In this reincarnation, the T-5 would be employed by the Paternian Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Navy as a trainer aircraft. The Paternian Army employ several as chase aircraft for helicopter testing, replacing the aging F-51D Mustang.

Other variants feature more specialized tasks including light attack, aerial reconnaissance, and counter-insurgency. The T-5 Angel itself is capable of being modified to perform some light attack duties. Introduced in 1981, the type served as the basic fixed-wing trainer aircraft of the Paternian Armed Forces, and among the first aircraft most pilots have flown. This particular example is in standard Paternian Air Force training aircraft colors.

@Ghavin2000 I have on several occasions.

However, I've got a backlog of projects to do and upload, so yeah.

@Pilotmario Have you ever thought about building small boats? I would love to see what the Paternian navy uses.

Okay, cheers for clearing that up. I feel like all of the turboprop trainers look almost the same. And the RAAF operates both the PC9 and Texan II.

It was inspired by the Pilatus PC-9 and the Embraer EMB-312 Tucano.

The T-6 Texan II is a derivative of the PC-9 though. @N124Hawk
