This is a new improved version of my previous He162.

New updates in this built:

1) Make sure to match flight speed to 790 km/h (490 mph, 430 kn) at sea level.
2) Flaps extension (lower by VTOL down) for better handling at low speed during landing. Landing speed around 150 mph.
3) You can land in water and float for some time until you get rescued by "Kriegsmarine" - AG 7 to open the canopy
4) 10 unguided rockets added

History:

Captured He 162 120230 in France, brought to the US by Operation Lusty

The Heinkel He 162 Volksjäger (German, "People's Fighter") was a German single-engine, jet-powered fighter aircraft fielded by the Luftwaffe in World War II. Developed under the Emergency Fighter Program, it was designed and built quickly and made primarily of wood as metals were in very short supply and prioritized for other aircraft. Volksjäger was the Reich Air Ministry's official name for the government design program competition won by the He 162 design. Other names given to the plane include Salamander, which was the codename of its wing-construction program, and Spatz ("Sparrow"), which was the name given to the plane by the Heinkel aviation firm.

Building Notes:

The wing span of this plane is very short and I keep wing specs as close as possible to the real one. I did not make the wings bigger to please while landing. Instead, I keep it close to the original proportions. Combine effect with the very narrow landing gear span, I find this plane quite challenging on landing. I did not add the gyroscope as well. All are balanced by physical weight only.

Landing:

Landing speed is strict at 120-140 mph. Short stubby wings have very low stall capability, so take care pilot! Lower down the flaps (VTOL Down) while landing. And also holding down throttle to zero will deploy air brakes.
