Ship History

The MV New Wonder is the current flagship and the longest ferry ever acquired by Ocean Network Line previously beating the old MV New Atlantica in terms of length and width.

She was built in 2004 as the Kansai Rainbow of East Japan Ferry Line serving the between Fukouka-Busan.She is the only ship in her class being the biggest in the East Japan Ferry Line fleet.

She was acquired later in 2021 by Ocean Network Line together with the former MV Ferry Satsuma and Ferry Kyushu after the MV New Atlantica and MV New Venus started having engine problems and she was needed to boost passenger and cargo transport between Manila-Cebu-Cagayan De Oro.

She was originally named as the MV Monarch but was changed due to registration issue. She was the replacement for the MV New Atlantica and Venus as both vessels were sent to Alang,India for scrapping as their engines were unreliable.
