RDS Victoria is a battlecruiser built by the Royal Desert Navy in 1853. She was the first Battlecruiser built in the world, she was influenced by the debut of the first ever Dreadnought, Formidable, of the Imperial Southern Navy in the Battle of North Sea. Most of the Western Navies rushed themselves on creating their first Dreadnoughts, the Desert Naval Warfare Intelligence however didn't really created a concept of new Dreadnoughts although made a concept close to it. This gave birth to the new class which were the Battlecruiser. She was built during the early years of the Great War of Coalitions.

Development

The outbreak of The Great War of Coalitions made a huge impact on the peace balance on Western Great Country. The majority of the financials were given to the army while having less to the Navy. Formidable's arrival to battle made a significant impact in Naval Warfare, sailing with large guns, heavy armor and faster speed than those of the older Pre-Dreadnoughts caused a brain rush for naval intelligence in the Western Great Country. Most of the Western Navies created a response against the Imperial Navy's new war machine. The Northern Navy, The Crafitanyan Navy and the Sanistan Navy managed to draw their own Dreadnoughts and begin their projects, but the Royal Desert Navy thought of a better plan than building a full-time Dreadnought. The Royal Desert Navy possessed the most largest fleet of Armoured Cruisers, they possess only a few Very Armoured ships. This gave them an idea to create a larger version of an existing Armored Cruiser that is faster, heavily Armoured and can carry the same or weaker armament of that of a full-time Dreadnought. The drawings begun in mid 1852 after the beginning of The Great War of Coalitions. The drawing took them only 5 months to finished and was approved immediately, the ship was named Victoria. Victoria was launched in the late 1852 and was fitted out till the early year of 1853,she officially took trainings on the mid January of 1853 but was cut short and was immediately sent to the battlefield.

Design

Victoria possessed lower freeboard Hull design but had a similar drawing design of formidable. She had 2 tall iron poles, one on Fore and one on Aft. She had an armament of 8x 13 inch DL 44 guns as her main armament, these guns were retrieved from Coastal duties and was installed to her. For her secondaries, she was armed with 5x 5 inch DL 34 guns installed on Port and Starboard of the Ships. She had a maximum speed of 25 knots.

Service History

Victoria was assigned on the North Fleet which where mostly the most heaviest warships are and made her debut on the Battle off Desert Beach, she acted as the moving Artillery platform of the Navy as she was the only capital ship that can mover freely. Her performance on the Battle was mediocre, as she received trainings but wasn't properly shaken down. Her crew was mostly experiencing real battles rather which mostly turned out to be their own shake down. She was also present on the 2nd Battle of Barrent Islands where she sunk Atleast 4 Armored Cruisers and 3 more ships. Her presence made the Armoured Cruisers on the battle afraid and most of them mostly ran away or wait for Older Pre-Dreadnoughts. She was also present on the 2nd Battle of North Sea where she sunk a further more 5 warships and 3 auxiliary ships. Her performance as a ship and a Class herself had given a great meaning after the war. She continued to serve on the Royal Desert Navy for 3 more years and finally retire on 1864. She was reflourished and turned into a museum ship since.
