Eurofighter Twister (EF 2030)

15.4k Dastin  5.8 years ago

Now comes something from my head almost entirely but with some basis from other aircraft/designs. It’s also the mark of the end of my ‘builder’s block’ phase which hit right after the SA-23 was uploaded. There is so much to tell.

In the world of SP 2030 the Adriatic federation found itself in a compromising position with the US and their fighter program. A push for domestic capability drove the need for a 5th generation fighter to match the federations defense through dissasion doctrine. Unlike most of their allies who sought to curry favour and continue relying on Legacy systems the federation’s belief that the world would not simply let them be drove their innovation. As former participants in the Eurofighter project, Italy, the core of the federation, would be the main contributor via Leonardo while other smaller companies like Serbian Soft house (who designed many of the mechanical components) would get the chance to develop their skills.

The Eurofighter Twister, a concept not unlike an enlarged F-35 in some ways, would soon see serial production years after the project had begun. Although untested in the field, simulation data and live field tests have shown that the aircraft has enhanced capabilities and an expansive growth potential and as production increases, the costs are guaranteed to continue dropping.

The Eurofighter Twister is a marvellously engineered aircraft combining tried and tested methods with new concepts brought about by emerging technologies. It utilises a dovetail tailplane, planform alignment, a stealthy airframe and a special, durable RAM to maximise effective stealth in a world where absolute steal is constantly changing as sensors get better. It makes use of dual plane thrust vectoring to enhance its agility in the air, allowing it to perform extreme aerobatic maneuvers such as fake stalls and momentum manipulation in the air, although these features are relaxed in combat models to enhance airframe stability and longevity.

It is designed with two large bays, built around the HiT-49 Tactical Anti-ship/Anti-land missile which it can carry two of at a time. It can also carry up to 8 air-air missiles internally or two small cruise missiles. It is also designed with space for six external pylons each with a carrying capacity of 5000 pounds should extended strike capabilities be requires.

It is equipped with a custom AA/PE Twister AESA radar that is strong enough to act in different modes including one that allows it to take on the role of a mini AWACS and provide extensive jamming. It features a dual HUD-Semi-Virtual cockpit system where the pilot is “immersed” in a sea of information from various sensors around the airframe. To help him make sense of the data, the system is built alongside a combat support AI, Aiuto, which prioritizes sensor data, making the whole thing as easy as flying a plane in a simulated combat space. Pilots, after running simulator battles, have remarked how stilted battles between the EF-Typhoon and the EF-Twister are with the Twister winning out over the well designed typhoon many times over.

Action Groups:
AG1 - Landing flaps
AG2 - Performance smoke trail
AG3 - Cockpit Light
AG4 - Weapon bay
AG5 - Drop tanks
AG6 - Hardpoint purge
AG7- Navigation lights
AG8 - Gyroscope [Yaw control

Controls:
Normal aircraft controls
Trim to trim pitch
Fire weapons to fire weapons
Fire guns to fire guns

A couple of things:
Firstly, I realised only after uploading it that she doesn’t have an airbrake. Please feel free to slap one on when you’re playing around with it. I’ll install it in the next version.
If there’s enough clamour for a modless version I’ll upload one without any mods and link it to this.
Takeoffs are sharp so build speed at 30% power and takeoff smoothly.
Let me know what I could improve. I’m always looking to get better when I build.

Cool design, but I was wondering if you could make a non-modded version so I could fly it on my iPad?
