The X-20 Dyna-Soar was a spaceplane developed by the USAF from the German Silverbird space bomber and served as the successor to the X-15. It was developed in 1957 to 1963 and was intended to be a nuclear bomber that can bomb targets from space and also was an alternative to the Gemini program. It was unfortunately cancelled in 1963 due to high costs and no real objectives for orbital flight.
