The last modification of the JPAA to increase it's service life. The prototype (the version shown here) had the parts that were modified or added in matte black paint to distinguish them from the original JPAA design style. The X series was based off of the A model and had engines that were more fuel efficient and powerful. The X series was designed to fight in all theaters of war, let it be the desert, snow, or naval. The only JPAA model that has a front mounted cockpit, external fuel tanks on the wing tips and single minigun make this model the begining of the JPAA golden age.
